Prof. Torres and I have met in Paris on December 2008, during my participation on EROS 3D Project, and his participation on a CAPES / COFECUB Project on Video Indexing on . We have found common research interests and have been cooperating since.

Prof. Torres is my supervisor on my post-doctoral internship at the IC / UNICAMP.

Lab at IC / UNICAMP.

The RECOD lab was founded at late 2009 by a consortium between four professors of the Computing Institute of IC / UNICAMP, including Prof. Ricardo Torres. I am a cooperating research at the lab and I have participated on its foundation.

Computer Science Institute / State University of Campinas.

The State University of Campinas has one of the most impressive assembly of post-graduate programs in Brazil. I have applied, at the research sponsoring agency FAPESP, for a post-doctoral scholarship, which was accepted. My research internship there will go from August 2009 to July 2010.

Prof. Araújo supervised my M.Sc. work and coordinated the project which financed my Ph.D. work. We cooperated in the study of the issues of information systems development for permanent collections (like the ones of archives and museums). He also coordinates the NPDI lab for the study of image processing.

From April to July 2009, I have worked again under his direct supervision at the NPDI labs. We have an ongoing cooperation now that I have moved to Campinas.

University of Minas Gerais is my alma mater. I had both my B.Sc. and my M.Sc. in computer science at its Computer Sciences department.

Prof. Cord was one of the supervisors of my Ph.D. work. We still cooperate, pursuing practical and theoretical advancements on the field of high-dimensional data indexing, k nearest neighbours search and local-descriptor based image retrieval. He is also interested on machine learning, kernel methods, and large video databases processing.

LIP6 is a research lab hosted by the University Université Pierre & Marie Curie (Paris 6) and the CNRS. With 172 resident researchers and 251 Ph.D. students, it is one of the main research labs on Computer Sciences in France.

Prof. Precioso cooperates with Prof. Matthieu Cord and me on the subject of content-based semantic video retrieval.

Prof. Foliguet was one of the supervisors of my Ph.D. work. We still cooperate, pursuing practical and theoretical advancements on the field of high-dimensional data indexing, k nearest neighbours search and local-descriptor based image retrieval. She is also interested on machine learning and graph matching for image retrieval.

The ETIS lab has four teams that study the multidisciplinary subjects of signal processing, image processing, image reconstruction, knowledge discovery and management, neurocybernetics and hardware architectures for those applications. It is a CNRS lab, co-hosted by the University of Cergy-Pontoise and the Superior National School of Electronics and its Applications (ENSEA). Most of my Ph.D. work was developed there.

Project Accepted in the Masses des Donneés Program — ANR.

The EROS-3D project aims at dealing with large 3D model of artworks and other Cultural Heritage objects. The raw 3D data has been provided by the C2RMF, and comes from the digitisation of Gallo-Roman terracotta statuettes and Greek terracotta vases. The goal is to develop a software architecture able to manipulate (registration, integration, visualization, search and comparison) those data.

My role in the project is to support Prof. Matthieu Cord, the project coordinator, in the process of wrapping up the project, which includes the tasks of assessment, reporting, and valorisation of results. In addition, as the project reaches the critical phase of integration, I am acting as a facilitator to enhance the flow of information between the five labs.

The C2RMF, a CNRS lab attached to the Ministry of Culture, is the research centre for conservation and restoration of cultural heritage items held in French museums. We have cooperated during my Ph.D.

State archive of the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Arquivo Público Mineiro is the State archive of Minas Gerais. I worked there from 2000 to 2003, studying the issues of information systems development for permanent collections and the technical / strategic challenges for the digitisation of textual and visual documents.
