In inverse chronological order :
- Since August 2011, I am a professor (category MS-3, roughly corresponding to an assistant professor, but tenured) at the Department of Computer Engineering and Industrial Automation (DCA) of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (FEEC) at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP).
- In 2009–2011, I was a postdoc fellow at the Institute of Computing at the State University of Campinas, advised by Prof. Ricardo Torres. I worked on a variety of topics, including indexing of large-scale databases of multimedia descriptors, and content-based information retrieval.
- I’ve got a Ph.D in Computer Sciences at the University of Cergy-Pontoise, in 2008. I was advised by Prof. Matthieu Cord (now at the UPMC — Sorbonne Universités) and Prof. Sylvie Philipp-Foliguet, working on a thesis about indexing high-dimensional spaces for nearest neighbor search.
- I’ve got a M.Sc. and a B.Sc., also in C.S., at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, in 2003 and 2001 respectively. I was advised by Prof. Arnaldo Araújo, working on a dissertation about long-term preservation of Cultural Heritage images.
